Dickson Realty leaders, regional experts, and real estate agents came together to discuss the Nevada real estate market and celebrated the company’s top team members at its 2023 Economic Summit, held in the Nightingale Sky Room in the Nevada Museum of Art. About 200 agents attended, including representatives from Carson City and Carson Valley, who recently joined Dickson Realty.

“The Economic Summit has become part of Dickson Realty’s DNA and culture,” said Nancy Fennell, Dickson Realty CEO and owner. “The information agents take away from the event helps them help their buyers and sellers navigate the market and build strong relationships and a stronger community.”

Experts bring insights about Nevada housing market and more

This year’s economic summit included speakers who discussed the housing market and regional economy, how local and national factors could impact it, and what 2023 could bring.

“There is no good market, there is no bad market, there is just the market where we are,” Fennell said.

Speakers included:

  • Mike Kazmierski, president and CEO of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, gave a broad overview of the region’s economy, comparing the last 20 years and providing context to sustainable growth.
  • Brian Bonnenfant, project manager at the Center for Regional Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, provided a more focused look at the region’s housing demand.
  • Eugenia Larmore, Ph.D., MBA, president of eKay Economic Consultants, added context with national economic trends.

In between broader economic conversations, David Walker, Executive Director of the Nevada Museum of Art, shared a sneak peek at major renovations planned for the museum. Walker showed new renderings of a library and California Street entrance the museum plans to build in the coming years.

Dickson’s Chris Galli introduced Northern Nevada HOPES Executive Director Sharon Chamberlain, who discussed the community health center’s goals and mission. Galli named HOPES as the Dickson Community Fund beneficiary of the year.
