State of Nevada: In his state of the state address, Governor Brian Sandoval pointed out strides Nevada has made since 2011 as he revealed a proposed $8.1 billion biennial budget with new spending for education, workforce development, state parks and veterans. He also cited the state’s “momentum” in economic development, noting the 204 companies recruited to Nevada, bringing $14.5 billion in capital investment and 38,000 jobs since 2011. Read more.

City of Reno: In her state of the city address, Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve touted the city’s blight rehabilitation effort, starting with the demolition of two vacant motels.
