Reno Open Studios, an annual self guided art exhibit and studio tour of 35 local artists in 27 different studios, will be open this weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 6, 7 and 8, 2013.

This is a perfect opportunity to visit multiple artists’ studios see them work. You’ll learn what inspires them, witness their techniques, and be stimulated by their passion for the creative process. Watch as the artists transform raw materials into works of art. Finished art is also available at studio prices.

The first annual Reno Open Studios tour kicked off in 2009 with 21 local artists. This year’s tour features 45 talented artists in locations all over the Reno/Sparks area. The tour includes a myriad of art including oils, acrylics, watercolor, decorative gourds, jewelry, textiles, bronze, photography, woodturning, metal sculpture, glass and glass blowing, clay, printmaking, ceramics, and even a forensic artist.

In addition, at many venues the artists will have a piece of their own art available for raffle. Tickets will be available only at the artist’s studio. The drawings will take place at the end of the sale on Sunday, September 8. Winners need not be present – they will be contacted by phone.
