Eddy Street Vintage Market is your one-stop shop for the most unique gifts the Carson Valley can offer. On the third weekend of every month, Eddy Street Vintage Market hosts a themed pop-up shop at 1235 Eddy St. in Gardnerville that is a favorite of both locals and travelers to the Carson Valley alike.

Each month, step inside the Eddy Street house and find a number of unique antiques, vintage decor pieces, refurbished and refinished furniture, curated artwork, hand-made and vintage jewelry, and more.

The market is hosted the third weekend of each month in a historic Gardnerville Arts and Crafts style house originally built in 1916 and lovingly refurbished by the Fischer family, who acquired the property in the 1980s. Now, the home is transformed by the Fischer’s and their team each month into a cozy, truly one-of-a-kind shopping experience.

The market first began in 2014 on a whim and was meant only to be a one-time event. However, owner Meredith Fischer achieved so much success and support from the community that she decided to host the event time and time again, and now, it has become a popular shopping staple for the community at large.

What makes the market so unique is the fact that every month boasts a new creative theme; for example, in autumn, you can find the spookiest vintage decor, harvest-themed artwork, or beloved bakeware perfect for your Thanksgiving dinner.

During the holiday season, you’ll be able to do all your shopping in one fell swoop with their unique selections, which have ranged in theme from “Whimsical Wonderland” to “Home for the Holidays,” “An Old-Fashioned Christmas,” and more.

Situated within the 2,400 square-foot home located just a block away from Gardnerville’s main street, you’ll be sure to stumble upon the greatest finds, and you may even be surprised at just how much time you can spend exploring each of the rooms!

In addition to the holiday season, other themes throughout the years have included “Midnight, Moonlight and Magic,” “Summer Cottage Inn,” “The Potting Shed,” “Irish Countryside Adventure,” “Vintage Vacation,” and others.

How it began

The love for antiquing and refurbishing is a family affair that has led to the creation of the market, led by Meredith Fischer when she opened the shop in 2014. However, her journey leading to the market’s creation and her passion for antiques started much earlier.

Fischer’s grandfather was a lifelong painting contractor and taught his craft to Meredith’s mother, Janet. However, instead of becoming a painter by trade herself, Janet used her father’s teachings to become a master in refinishing furniture. It was only a matter of time before Fischer picked up the helm — or, in this case, brush — to follow in their footsteps.
