Nevada State Railroad Fourth of July Celebration

An American experience starts on July 1st at the Nevada State Railroad Fourth of July Celebration. The historic 1875-built wood-burning locomotive, Inyo, will be steamed up and train rides behind No. 25 will chugging along as well. The railroad museum is a cultural resource for the Carson and surrounding communities dedicated to educating, collecting, and preserving everything railroading. Purchase a $15 all-inclusive wristband for each day of the July Fourth event for admission to the museum and unlimited train rides!
Lights on the Lake Fireworks

Join somewhere between 75,000 and 100,000 people visiting Lake Tahoe this holiday season to watch the largest fireworks display west of the Mississippi. Plan to start and end your holiday at a local beach, Lakeview Commons/El Dorado Beach and Nevada Beach are two beaches with great viewpoints. You’ll make some incredible memories splashing in the cool waters of Tahoe, enjoying a delectable picnic, watching the sun set behind Desolation Wilderness, then it’s show time – the spectacular firework show shot from three barges anchored near Stateline. 2023 Bently Summer Concert Series

Esther Chapter #3, Order of the Eastern Star has been a part of the Carson community since 1886 and they are excited to host the 6th annual Downtown Revival Car show from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Have a classic car you want to show off – registration is just $40 through June 30th. This free event happens rain or shine – it’s your chance to check out classic cars, enjoy some music, take a poker walk, scavenge at the scavenger hunt, and more!
Movies in the Park

Grab the family and buttery popcorn and head down to Heritage Park in Gardnerville for a viewing of Captain America: The First Avenger. Movies in the Park is a great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors. You won’t be disappointed in the location, the park is surrounded by the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and Pinenut Mountains – get to the park early and hike the Martin Slough Trail, there’s even urban fishing to partake in! Admission is free and the movie starts at 8:00 p.m.
