This award-winning production recounts a pivotal moment in Chicanx history—the Pachuca Era. Marked by the 1943 Zoot Suit Riots in Los Angeles, Director and Choreographer Vanessa Sanchez’s all-female cast uses dance, music, spoken word, video, and percussive dialogue to put a twist on pachuquísmo. Visitors can learn about the female experience, which is an often untold side of the story. This fun exploration of Mexican heritage and the Chicanx community will debut on September 13, at Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater, from noon to 1:15 p.m.
