Recently, Johnathan L. Wright at the Reno Gazette Journal published an article about the 20 best new Reno restaurants that opened in 2018. His list is full of great places to eat and drink in the Reno/Sparks region, and we wanted to call out a few of our favorite new Reno restaurants. So, without further ado, they are …

New Reno Restaurants: Café De Thai

This delicious Thai restaurant brought its craft cocktails and innovative menu to midtown in 2018. While Café De Thai’s location may have changed, its menu still includes many dishes served at the restaurant’s old spot. Check out the new location at 760 S. Virginia St. for lunch!

New Reno Restaurants: Dutch Bros Coffee

This year Reno got not one, but two Dutch Bros Coffee locations, one at 7250 S. Virginia St., north of the Dolan Lexus dealership, and another at 4555 S. Virginia St., across the street from the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. Known for its friendly service and a wide variety of drinks, this Oregon-founded company has nearly 300 drive-through locations in seven Western states.

New Reno Restaurants: Rum Sugar Lime

If you’re looking for a place to sip and be seen, then Rum Sugar Lime is where you need to be. With a fresh, tropical (but not kitsch) ambiance and a menu of carefully crafted cocktails, this midtown bar at 1039 S. Virginia St. serves more than daiquiris.

New Reno Restaurants: Perenn Bakery

The croissants at this boutique bakery will have you sighing “O la la la!” into each buttery, flaky bite. Stop into Perenn Bakery at 20 Saint Lawrence Ave. in midtown for a loaf of crusty, rustic bread or flavorful tartine.

New Reno Restaurants: Whispering Vine Wine Co.

In 2018, Whispering Vine Wine Co. opened its fourth location in midtown Reno. With an urban, airy vibe and a more robust cocktail menu, this spot at 772 S. Virginia St. is perfect for an after-work drink or mid-day weekend mimosa.
