Incline Village, NV — Officials from the Nevada Division of State Parks announced the boat launch facility at Sand Harbor will open March 3, 2011.
Hours of operation will be from 7AM to 3PM, Thursday through Monday until the end of April. Boat inspectors from the Lake Tahoe Watercraft Inspection Program will be on hand during these hours to screen boats for aquatic invasive species such as quagga and zebra mussels.
The boat launch may be closed or delayed due to inclement weather. All closures or delays will be posted on tahoeboatinspections.com.
Summer hours will begin on May 1, 2011 and will be 6AM to 8PM. Boaters using only Lake Tahoe are asked to get their boats inspected early before the summer crowds.
Beginning on May 1 and throughout the summer, inspections will only take place at roadside stations. Please go to www.parks.nv.gov or tahoeboatinspections.com for 2011 locations and fee structures plus other useful information.
Remember to keep your watercraft clean, drained and dry prior to inspection at roadside stations.
