For those of you who have tried to make the left turn off of Highway 431 on to Route 28 in Incline Village during the summer will love this. The Nevada Department of Transportation and the Tahoe Transporation District in the planning stages of a roundabout to help traffic flow and to dress up the entrance to Incline Village.

One of the pieces of the plan is to have public art sculptures placed in the center of the round about, similar to the roundabout on Neil Road and Kietzke in Reno.

Lee Koch, Incline Resident and outreach specialist for the Tahoe Transportation District is leading an effort to raise funds for the construction and installation of these scuptures. She is looking for artisitic submissions from qualified artists who demonstrate a good understanding of Incline Village and Lake Tahoe. Koch states there is growing public interests in art that depicts the local natural environment.

Private funding is being pursued for the sculptures. These pieces will not be funded by Nevada Department of Transportation or the Tahoe Transportation District.
