Finding the perfect community in Reno’s sister city

While Sparks, Nevada, has long been considered Reno’s “little sister” city, it has grown up in its own right in the past decades, offering everything from festivals to water parks, golfing, and so much more for visitors and residents alike.

Sparks living can vary from quiet, golf-centered communities to heart-of-downtown neighborhoods close to festivals and entertainment.

Are you planning a move to Sparks? Before you begin your search, consider all the neighborhood options!

Sparks Marina

Situated around a large tranquil marina that was once a quarry, this neighborhood revolves around water recreation. Some houses and apartments are built right on the water! Residents in this quaint community enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, and many more activities.

Perfect for those who want to be closer to the action, the marina is also close to The Outlet at Legends Shopping Mall, Sparks’ largest shopping center, which includes a number of restaurants, retail shops, and an IMAX theater. Residents in this neighborhood have access to numerous walking and biking paths, providing excellent connectivity.

The average housing price is $545,000, though potential buyers within the 55+ community will find a house as low as $130,000 in the nearby neighborhood, Sierra Sol!

Victorian Square

For those who want to be right in the heart of the hustle and bustle, the Victorian Square neighborhood is a revitalized district centered around Victorian Square in downtown Sparks. The newly updated square serves as a gathering place for events, festivals, music, art, and celebrations of all kinds.

The area’s homes range from historic Victorians to new builds, alongside multifamily housing, luxury condos, and a similar variety of inventory. In addition, several charming, character-filled homes built between the late 1800s and the 1940s seem to have remained almost untouched a century later.

Just down the way from the Sparks Nugget Casino and Resort, home of the famous Nugget Rib Cook-Off, events throughout the year are only just outside your front door. Combine that with easy access to restaurants and pubs, a movie theater, parks, museums, and essential services, residents who love being in the action will be pleased to explore this neighborhood.

Prices range from the mid $300,000s up to the $690,000s.
