Dickson Realty has announced Kellen Flanigan, GRI, ILHMM, CRS, CN, SRES, CLHMS, as broker-salesperson for Dickson Realty, specializing in the luxury residential real estate in Lake Tahoe and northern Nevada markets. She is a licensed broker in both Nevada and California. Flanigan brings her expertise and talent to the region, with a long-standing real estate career in Southern California. Her financial background as a former owner of an investment bank/broker-dealer in Los Angeles and New York has helped her clients when creative financing is necessary to close unique, complicated and high-end transactions.
Flanigan’s history started in Reno, where her parents, Nancy and John Flanigan were dedicated philanthropists, active with the Reno Philharmonic, Saint Mary’s Hospital, Nevada Opera, Old School College of Law, and the Nevada Museum of Art. She has recently returned to northern Nevada be near her mom.
“With Dickson Realty having the majority of the market share in luxury residential sales and listings, I felt they best represented who I am and what I am trying to accomplish here,” Flanigan said. “They are extremely rooted in this town and I am truly connected to that philosophy.”
Flanigan has worked for Drexel Burnham Lambert in Beverly Hills and was recruited to their 2-year training program New York City. The program included extensive graduate work at the New York Institute of Finance. She had her own broker/dealer firm in the 1990s, and grew it to a 35-employee firm in New York and Los Angeles.
Flanigan has served on the board of the NASD (National Association of Securities Dealers) in Los Angeles, District 2. Her clients were high net worth individuals and small institutions. Among a myriad of financial transactions, she raised capital for real estate development transactions and a substantial size REIT. She fell in love with the real estate side of the business and sold her investment firm in 2000 to pursue a career in real estate.
Flanigan has worked with Joyce Rey, who has been one of the top 10 International agents for Coldwell Banker for 30 years. Learning from Ray, coupled with Flanigan’s financial background, allows her to serve clients well and negotiate on their behalf. From December 2006, she was a broker/real estate agent in the Luxury Homes Division with Keller Williams Realty in Santa Monica, Calif. She ranked in the top 50 producers circle of Keller Williams nationally since 2007. She has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California.
