Since 2007, the Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network (YPN) Twenty under 40 Awards has recognized exceptional leaders under the age of 40. Each year a group of 20 talented, accomplished and involved young leaders are chosen from nominations received. The YPN with co-sponsors, the Northern Nevada Business Weekly and KOLO coordinated the program.
Dickson Realty is proud to honor two outstanding individuals and leaders in our industry and community. The final winners of the 2017 Twenty under 40 awards were announced at awards ceremony on November 17 at the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel. Kylie Rowe, vice president of relocation services and Brock Marquez, REALTOR® were recognized for their achievements.
“It’s wonderful to receive any sort of recognition, and this is one of the best!” said Rowe. “More importantly, I believe individual accomplishments are often thanks to many individuals, teams and organizations who are willing to partner and collaborate for the greater good, so this award ceremony honoring the top 40 finalists is a signal of our regional greatness now and in the future.”
“There are so many people setting the trail on fire in Reno and many are under 40,” said Marquez. “Just to be recognized by one of my peers is flattering enough but to be one of the top 40 is incredible. It does two things for me. One, it reaffirms that I am going down the right path in building a better community. Two, it’s setting a good example for my two boys teaching them to give back and being involved in the community are some of the best things you can do.”
The awards celebration was a fundraiser for 20 nonprofit organizations. The awards finalists were actively involved in raising funds for the organizations. “Dickson Realty had the vision to create an executive position to develop and oversee the first corporate relocation department in northern Nevada,” said Rowe. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow in this position, serving as an ambassador of our area and collaborating with others to attract and integrate community-focused, top talent that buy-in and elevate our region as a model community of the future.”
“I love to pass on my knowledge and passion of real estate to new agents through our Dickson Realty mentor program,” said Marquez. “I hope to continue that program and maybe start something where agents help with area nonprofits.”
