Dickson Realty Spotlight on Dickson Truckee with Kane Schaller from Dickson Realty on Vimeo.
Living in Truckee is an adventure on its own with a very unique living opportunity for anyone. Truckee offers its residents a great community, growing art scene, excellent dining experiences and of course neighbors to be proud of. Every part of this community works together to place Truckee on the map.
With a growing variety of residents, this community attracts people from all over, including Bay Area commuters and some professional athletes. What draws people to make this place home is Truckee’s private airport, proximity to Lake Tahoe and ski resorts, four-season recreation, a cancer center, and growing downtown.
The surrounding ski resorts at Northstar California, Squaw Valley Ski Resort, and Sugar Bowl Resort each bring something different to ski and snowboarders. Northstar is a family-friendly escape, Squaw has the most aggressive terrain, and Sugar Bowl tends to offer a quieter experience.
A true testament to how the Truckee community functions is the story behind the world-class Tahoe Forest Cancer Center. With the burden on cancer patients and caregivers traveling 30-40 minutes out of town for care, residents came together to pass a bond measure that would fund a center to make treatment more accessible to community members.
Finally, downtown Truckee is going through an exciting addition with the Railyard project that just broke ground a couple months ago. This will be a mixed-use development that will include affordable housing in the form of artist lofts, office space, retail, and other residential living.
