Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain!!!!
Because of the severe drought we have been experiencing in Northern Nevada for the past few years, the Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) has asked us to please cut down our watering schedule by a meager 10%. So, if you water one area 20 minutes, all you need to do is cut back 2 minutes. This request from TMWA asks us to start at the first of August. If we manage our water resources correctly, we have a minimum of nine years of water saved up!
But hasn’t the recent rain been absolutely dreamy? To walk outside and smell the perfume of Manzanita, how lucky are we this week?
Finally know your watering days. If the last number of your home or business address is even, water on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturdays. If it is odd, water on Sundays, Wednesdays or Friday. Don’t water between 10:00am and 7:00pm and don’t water on Mondays.
You can hand water your vegetables, flowers, trees and shrubs any day of the week.
