As English writer, Gilbert K Chesterton noted, golf is “…an expensive way to play marbles.”  True words.  The cost of a round of golf on many local courses is not for the faint of heart, costing up to $200 per round on some courses.  Thankfully, there is a cost effective alternative.  The Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation offers annual Golfing for Schools cards that can be used for one round of golf at each of seven area courses for 18 holes of play at each.  Just $325, these cards hold a value many times over that.  And while you’re enjoying a round on the links, the Foundation is using the collected funds to enhance public education within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District in order to strengthen the learning experience for students. Funds are distributed to the schools based on grant requests written by the educators who know first-hand the needs within their classrooms.  And the Foundation grants on a District-wide level, as well.  So, while your putting may not make the grade, the students within our District will!

Golfing for Schools cards go on sales April 22 at http://www.exined.org/golfing-schools. And, as an added bonus, if you purchase your card on the opening weekend (April 22-24), you will be entered into a drawing for a twosome of golf at Lahontan Golf Club or Ponderosa Golf Club!  The cards are transferable so you can allow friends, family or clients to use yours at any time.  Because of this, the cards sell out quickly so there is a limit eight cards per person.

See you out there!
