The City of Reno has partnered with the American Planning Association (APA) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to launch the design competition last month, and the purpose is to engage the community in a discussion on urban development, and specifically, what housing could look like in the near future. There has been a shift in housing preferences as the younger generations enter the market. This competition is intended to capture some of those preferences.

The competition is geared toward design professionals such as land use planners, architects, landscape architects, and students. Individuals or teams can submit and the deadline to submit entries is May 18, 2015. The winning plans will be announced in mid June.
