The partners of Dickson Realty have announced the formation of a new full service commercial real estate firm, Dickson Commercial Group, Inc. Prior to the formation of the new company, Dickson Commercial was housed under Dickson Realty. As part of the formation of the new company, local commercial broker veterans Scott Shanks, SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors), and Dominic Brunetti, CCIM (Commercial Investment Member) will join Tom and Harvey Fennell as the new firm’s managing partners. Shanks and Brunetti were previously principals with NAI Alliance, and Tom Fennell was previously with Dickson Realty, Inc. Harvey Fennell will remain as a broker with Dickson Realty, Inc. as well as a partner in Dickson Commercial Group, Inc.

“This is a significant move for Dickson Commercial Group,” said Tom Fennell. “With the addition of these two partners to our already experienced team of agents at Dickson, we are growing to become one of the area’s largest locally owned and operated commercial firms. Both Scott and Dominic have a great reputation and are well respected within the northern Nevada. We will continue to be an agent-centric company that puts a priority on providing our clients with the most in-depth commercial real estate knowledge and expertise available in our region. We have experience in this market and through collaborative efforts amongst our brokers, we are positioned to be more flexible to assist our clients in all areas of commercial real estate.”

As a native to Reno, Shanks began his career with Hale Day Gallagher Co., where he was a commercial broker for more than 10 years. He then joined Prologis, the largest industrial development company in the world, for seven years overseeing the Reno, Salt Lake City, and Phoenix markets.

After graduating from Stanford, Brunetti began his business career in Palo Alto, California. He and his wife moved to Reno for the quality of life and to direct the business development team for a local title insurance company before he transitioned into the commercial real estate brokerage industry.

“We made the decision to join the experienced team at Dickson Commercial Group for multiple reasons,” said Brunetti. “Dickson offered a tremendous infrastructure including technology, marketing and a number of other resources. More importantly, we wanted to be affiliated with a firm that has been in operation in Northern Nevada for over 40 years. The commercial real estate industry of Northern Nevada is a business built on relationships and reputation. DCG will provide the platform to allow its agents to capitalize on both.”

Shanks and Brunetti join an experienced team of commercial real estate agents including Fred Miller, SIOR, Ron Boles, CCIM, Sheila Colfer, CCIM, Don Welsh, CCIM, Randy Walker, Lisamarie Wand, and fellow partners, Harvey and Tom Fennell.

Dickson Commercial Group with a group of investors purchased the three-story, 14,017 square foot office building at 333 Holcomb Ave. at the edge of Reno’s downtown and Midtown districts. After renovations, Dickson Commercial Group will move its offices to the second floor of this location. The third floor, totaling 5,500 square feet, will also be renovated and available for lease.

“We are pleased to be coming back to downtown Reno,” said Harvey Fennell. “Dickson Realty left downtown 20 years ago, but the time is right to return. We believe that the downtown area is going to experience significant growth and renovation in the next few years. What is happening in Midtown is exciting and we think it will continue. Locating the new commercial firm in Downtown Reno just made sense”.
