Peaceful, private and teaming with forest life, Montreux encompasses 726 acres of northern Nevada’s most enchanting county. Each season brings its own rewards. Montreux provides residents a full range of visual experiences and a rare glimpse into the nature of the forest. Though Montreux feels like its own separate world it is less than 15 minutes from the Reno/Tahoe International Airport, 25 minutes from’s one of the world most spectacular settings, Lake Tahoe and mere 1 hour by plane to San Francisco. Down town Reno is host to its own Symphony, Opera, the Nevada Museum of Art and year round entertainment and events. Mount Rose ski resort is only 10 minutes from Montreux and may more within 1 hours drive. Its location is off Mt. Rose Highway (Hwy431) between Reno and Lake Tahoe, 4.3 miles past exit from 395 South onto 431
The jewel of Montreux is the private Jack Nicklaus signature golf course. Winding over 7,472 yards. Mirrored lakes and Mountain streams weave in and out of the fairways. It is nature’s artful influence that has convinced Nicklaus the Montreux Golf Club will rank among his greatest. Close to half of the land has been set aside as open space. Acres of mature trees have been protected and Galena Creek continues to provide a corridor for migrating mule deer. Miles of trails for walking and jogging are available.
Opened in June 1997 the private course is limited to 435 members. It boasts a 34,000 square foot Old World clubhouse designed by Gail Ritchie. 3 separate private dining rooms, member grill and lounge, locker rooms, 5,000 square foot fitness center with swimming pool, 3 tennis courts and a poolside grill. Montreux’s Old World architectural style is reminiscent of the great country manors of Scotland, England, Ireland and France. All residences must be designed in the European/Alpine style and approved by the Montreux design review committee and stamped by a licensed architect. CC&Rs require a minimum residence of 2,500 square feet and three -car garage. HOA fees are $250 a month for 24 hour security, maintenance of all common areas and snow removal.
In my next article I will talk about our own PGA tournament the Reno-Tahoe Open which begins on July 30th 2012 and www.renotahoeopen.com and of course that Nevada is a very Tax friendly state with NO STATE TAX.
